Types of CNC tool holders

Collapsible chucks are widely used to hold drill bits, reamers and small diameter end mills. They use a collet, a flexible sleeve that shrinks around the tool when tightening, providing strong grip and excellent concentricity.

End mill holders are designed to hold straight shank end mills. They typically have a set screw or collet to hold the tool in place, and come in a variety of shank types to accommodate different spindle interfaces.

Jacket mill holders are used for mounting face milling cutters and pocket milling cutters. They feature large diameter holes and a set of screws or clamping mechanisms to secure the cutter, providing sturdy support for heavy-duty cutting operations.

Hydraulic toolholders use hydraulic pressure to expand a sleeve around the toolholder, creating a strong and even clamping force. Known for their excellent vibration damping properties, these toolholders are often used in high-speed machining applications.
